A sketch of the renowned composer Emmanuel Friedrich Becker (1623-1701) whom I came up with in February 2006. ()
The sketch measures about 35x27mm and was drawn with a copperplate-nibbed dip-pen on yellow textured paper. Scanned 18.2.2006, probably made in that or the previous day. I was planning to make a huge congregation of singers and players but a stupid and stupidly-lit face right between Emmanuel and his first gambist prevented me from it...
In the sketch you can see the composer E. F. Becker playing the lyre and singing while a noble member of his consort (presumably Heinrich von Achen, 1629-1692) attentively accopmpanies him in his bass viol (a.k.a. viola da gamba).
